Why XARELTO® works differently.
XARELTO® is a prescription medicine that targets one specific blood-clotting factor.
With XARELTO®, blood tests aren’t typically necessary to set your starting dose, and you don’t need to schedule regular blood tests throughout your treatment to have your dosage adjusted. So instead of spending time monitoring your blood, you can do more of the things you enjoy.
XARELTO® doesn’t have any known dietary restrictions; you can enjoy leafy green vegetables and other foods rich in vitamin K whenever you like. XARELTO® doesn’t interact with vitamin K. So you can vary your diet from day to day without having to worry about it changing the way XARELTO® works.
Most people can take the same dose of XARELTO®–one pill each day with their evening meal. There are no dosage changes to keep track of. People with kidney problems, however, may have to have their dosage adjusted while taking XARELTO®.
If you have AFib not caused by a heart valve problem, talk with your doctor about XARELTO®–and how it can help reduce your AFib-related stroke risk. To be better prepared for your conversation, use our Personalized Doctor Discussion Guide or download the XARELTO® Patient Center App.
